Dress for Success
Dress for Success is a nonprofit organization that aims to empower both unemployed and employed women by providing developmental resources and programs free of charge. Second Harvest Food Bank
Assist the Second Harvest Food Bank in building food-secure, thriving communities! Volunteer opportunities are available daily, which includes partnering with the Community Meals kitchen, donation inspection, and office assistance. Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age with the supervision of a guardian, unless you are 16 or older.

The Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation of Winston-Salem (AARF)
The AARF offers many opportunities for interested individuals aged 12-15 with guardian supervision and 16+ independent of a guardian. Volunteers are able to spend time with adoptable cats, assist homeless animals in the family-selection process, and gain hands-on experience and training in animal care.

Kaleidium
Kaleidium offers various volunteer opportunities for individuals of 15 years and up. Positions include being educational and floor guide assistants, camp educator assistant, gallery & exhibit docent, and special event volunteer. Some of the offered positions are on an ongoing basis, with volunteers asked to participate at least 2 hours every month.

United Nations Volunteers
United Nations Volunteers offers remote programs and services for volunteers to assist in advancing developmental and humanitarian efforts. Some of the assignments are in-person, while others are strictly virtual, including social media outreach, technical leadership programs, and translational assistance internationally.

Crossnore Communities for Children
Crossnore Communities for Children offers special opportunities for volunteers to provide essential services and resources to those in foster care. Some of these services include care for animals, activity sponsors, garden maintenance, and tutors and homework assistants. Keep in mind that some positions require volunteers to be 21+, and all others, guardian accompaniment.
